A prayer for Parents - Rearing children

HEAVENLY FATHER,

This morning I feel a great burden for Christian parents—moms and dads who want to live for you and rear their children in your ways. The simple Sunday school song declares that “little ones to you belong,” and we sing those words because we know how much you value our precious girls and boys. You have given us no greater responsibility than to care for your little ones. So I pray for mothers and fathers today. Empower them to be tough, when necessary, directing their children “on the right path.” And help them to be tender, comforting when needed and affirming each child. Give them insight into how to teach spiritual life skills, such as how to worship, how to pray, how to apply the Bible, and others. I pray that these moms and dads will be spiritually conscientious and tend to their own spiritual well-being, learning, sharing, and modeling biblical values. I thank you for entrusting parents with this awesome privilege.
