A prayer about Truthfulness - Being a person of my word

GOD,

Why do I preface most of my answers or statements with “I promise,” “I’ll be honest,” or something similar? Probably because I often shade the facts. Instead, I want to be a person who is direct and truthful—always. Help me, Lord.

Never take an oath, by heaven or earth or anything else. Just say a simple yes or no, so that you will not sin and be condemned. James 5:12
