A Prayer About Serving Jesus

A prayer about Serving Jesus - Helping “the least of these”

MY SAVIOR, MY KING,

Lead me, today, to “the least of these.” In today’s story about the Final Judgment before your glorious throne, the “righteous ones” (Matthew 25:37) admit they can’t remember seeing you in the people they helped. They probably didn’t even think that what they were doing for each one was special because helping was second nature to them. I love how you transform those who trust in you. When these men and women spotted a need, they met it; they saw people the way you see them, with compassion. I know you are changing me, too, Jesus. Please make me more sensitive to those who are hurting: the ones who are physically and spiritually parched; the lonely who feel isolated and alien; the individuals who are exposed and vulnerable; those in prisons of their own making through obsessions and addictions. Created in God’s image, these men and women need love and care, and they need you. Open my eyes to see them, to see you in them. Make me a conduit of your grace, I pray.

The King will say, “I tell you the truth, when you did it to one of the least of these my brothers and sisters, you were doing it to me!” Matthew 25:40
