GOD,

I pray for the neediest people in our society, especially widows and orphans who have no means of support. We followers of Christ have the responsibility to help them physically—food, clothing, shelter, transportation, finances—but also emotionally and spiritually, offering friendship, guidance, comfort, and love. Show me how.

Pure and genuine religion in the sight of God the Father means caring for orphans and widows in their distress and refusing to let the world corrupt you. James 1:27
