A Prayer About Trustworthiness

A prayer about Trustworthiness

When I wonder if others can put their confidence in me

ALMIGHTY GOD,

As one who represents you, I want to be the kind of person who reflects your nature. Daniel was a captive in a foreign land—far from home, family, friends, and familiar surroundings. He could have been angry and bitter or devious and disingenuous. But the opposite occurred; the pressures of that environment revealed his true character. Although they tried hard, those who opposed him in the government could find nothing wrong with Daniel’s work. In fact, “he was faithful, always responsible, and completely trustworthy.” Quite a positive description and reputation—and representing you, what an amazing impact he had on the nation. At times I, too, feel as though I am an alien in the land because of my values and morals. People can be put off by my declaration of allegiance to you, Lord God, and even look for ways to criticize or condemn me. I pray that, like Daniel, my character will shine through and bring glory to you. I pray that everyone, even my opponents, will know that they can put their confidence in me.

The other administrators and high officers began searching for some fault in the way Daniel was handling government affairs, but they couldn’t find anything to criticize or condemn. He was faithful, always responsible, and completely trustworthy. Daniel 6:4
