A Prayer About Stewardship
A prayer about Stewardship
When I need to know how to invest God’s gifts
LORD ABOVE,
You own everything and have allowed me to use earth’s bountiful resources. Along with this privilege, you have given your human creations the responsibility to care for them. You have also entrusted personal resources for me to steward: time, talent, and treasure. I know these gifts are valuable and limited and should not be squandered. Instead, you want me to invest them for the Kingdom. My time on earth is limited, so I pray that I will use my remaining days and years to serve you well, reaching out to others, spreading the Good News, and spending quality time with you. I don’t want to waste or bury these resources. You have also endowed me with unique talents and abilities. These, too, should be used for your glory. Please keep me from laziness or taking these gifts for granted. Help me develop and exercise them to honor you. And you have allowed me to have money and possessions. Show me how to invest them to further your work and give me the courage to do so. I take stewardship seriously.
The master said, “Well done, my good and faithful servant. You have been faithful in handling this small amount, so now I will give you many more responsibilities. Let’s celebrate together!” Matthew 25:23
