A Prayer About Spiritual Warfare
A prayer about Spiritual Warfare
When I understand the real battle
DEAR GOD,
I have heard warnings about being in a spiritual war, and now I have experienced it. I was hit from all sides: unexpected setbacks, whispered doubts, twisted facts, false accusations, strong temptations, and roadblocks to doing your will. I couldn’t see the enemy, but the evil forces were real and intense. Although the enemy has mighty powers, he is no match for you, almighty God. I cannot win this battle on my own; I need you to strengthen and equip me. You have told me to wear your armor—truth, righteousness, peace, faith, and salvation—to defend against Satan’s attacks. But you also want me to take the offensive, wielding your Word as a sword. So Lord, I resolve to stand firm in your mighty power, holding to the truth, secure in my relationship with you, trusting you fully, and living to glorify you. I will attack evil with your inspired promises and declarations. Together we will prevail.
Be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on all of God’s armor so that you will be able to stand firm against all strategies of the devil. For we are not fighting against flesh-and-blood enemies, but against evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against mighty powers in this dark world, and against evil spirits in the heavenly places. Therefore, put on every piece of God’s armor so you will be able to resist the enemy in the time of evil. Then after the battle you will still be standing firm. Ephesians 6:10-13
