A Prayer About Provision
A prayer about Provision
When I understand my needs and God’s supply
DEAR LORD,
I recognize that I have wants and needs and that I sometimes confuse the two. Needs are crucial for survival, but most of my wants are extras that I think I must have. My body needs oxygen, water, and nutrients. I also need clothing and shelter to protect me from the elements and other potential dangers. You made me as a social creature, so relationships are vital—family, friends, community. Transportation, health care, and financial resources might also be on that list. Then I consider my spiritual needs. Every person has a hole in the soul that only you can fill—I need you. You have promised to provide all I need, and you do so much more. As a frail human being, I need direction and guidance, and you lead me. In my struggles, conflicts, and sorrows, I need assurance, answers, and comfort, which you generously provide. And you give eternal life, my most profound need. Thank you, Lord, for your provision, and keep me from those irrelevant, superfluous desires that tempt me away from trusting you.
God will generously provide all you need. Then you will always have everything you need and plenty left over to share with others. 2 Corinthians 9:8
