A Prayer About Hurts

When I feel wounded

FATHER,

I’m hurting, wounded by a friend. I know no one is perfect, but this caught me by surprise. The words cut deep, and I feel humiliated and betrayed. I don’t know what to do or say, how to react. Please show me, lead me—give me the courage to turn the other cheek, to return good for evil, to forgive, to love. And whatever the cause, be with my friend, and do your heart work in both of us.
