A Prayer About Guilt

A prayer about Guilt

When I’m feeling remorseful for something I’ve done

HEAVENLY FATHER,

I was born with a conscience, so I’ve always had an inner voice telling me when an action was wrong. Since giving my life to you, I also have the Holy Spirit inside me, convicting me of my sin. The urgings of both conscience and the Spirit lead to guilt feelings when I do something I know I shouldn’t. And that has helped me confess to you and make good choices. I also know that Satan tries to make me feel guilty when I don’t need to. The Accuser twists your Word and reminds me of past mistakes and sins. Lord, I want to listen only to you, to obey your commands and follow your guidance. Before Christ, I was lost, dead, completely and totally guilty, and deserving of eternal punishment. But you found me, gave me life, and pronounced me “not guilty.” Regardless of what Satan or anyone else might say, I know I am forgiven of all my sin—past, present, and future. Thank you, and please help me live as one who has been reborn, redeemed, and released.

Your sins have been forgiven through Jesus. 1 John 2:12
