A Prayer About Energy

When I need God’s power

HOLY SPIRIT,

You indwell Christ followers, transforming us and infusing us with power to resist temptation, deal with sinful habits, serve others, and spread the Good News about Jesus. I can do none of that in my strength, on my own. Whenever I try—even with great effort—I fall short, I fail. Because all I do for you has to be you working through me. The world, my world, is filled with people heading in the wrong direction. Some have heard of Jesus and may have read select Bible stories, but most have no idea of the gospel tenets. Today my path crossed those of several friends and associates who fit that category and with whom I want to share my faith. I love these folks and know that they are lost without Christ. So I pray for them right now, by name, and I ask you to give me opportunities, words, and power. Fill me—energize me—to be your spokesperson. I want to help change the world, one person at a time—beginning with me.
