A Prayer About Blessings

A prayer about Blessings

When I consider God’s work in my life

O LORD,

The word blessing is used often in Scripture and in life in a variety of contexts. In my relationship with you, “blessing” means having your approval and receiving your good gifts. Today was filled with your blessings, beginning with another day to live and serve you. After a night of safe and sound sleep, I awoke, prepared for the day, and made my way through it under your care. Whether showering, eating, reading, walking, working out, thinking, talking, running, sitting, or driving, you were with me. Thank you. I have a place to live, air to breathe, water to drink, and food to eat. Thank you. I was able to experience your glorious creation—sun, sky, earth, flowers, trees, birds, animals, rivers, weather—with my senses. I saw, I heard, I smelled, I touched. Thank you. I have family, friends, neighbors, coworkers, and Christian brothers and sisters who care about me, help me, support me, seek my company, and pray for me. Thank you. And of eternal importance, through Christ I am forgiven, Spirit empowered, and free. Thank you.

All praise to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly realms because we are united with Christ. Ephesians 1:3
