A Reflection On Waiting For God

A reflection on Waiting For God

When God seems silent

Children learn much about their friends by playing hide-and-seek. They don’t give up when they can’t find them at first; they keep looking. In a similar way, might God’s silence—which we experience sometimes when we pray—prepare us for an encounter with Him? God often does not answer us immediately, but He encourages our persistence. He invites us in the silence to explore His character and learn of His will. He tells us to seek and we will find.

To everyone who knocks, the door will be opened.

Luke 11:10
