A Reflection On Deliverance

When I need to depend wholly on God

God is a Deliverer for those who recognize how vulnerable they are. “God helps those who help themselves” is a catchy saying, but it is not biblical. Rather, God helps those who know how helpless they are and who appeal to Him—on His terms—for deliverance. If we want God to be our stronghold in times of trouble, we must depend on God as our stronghold. The deliverance is His, and His alone.

The LORD helps them, rescuing them from the wicked. He saves them, and they find shelter in him.
