Your Talents
Your Talents
Elementary school productions are not to be missed.
It’s a celebration of organized chaos. Cute costumes, glassy-eyed looks of terror, some kids clearly bored, some experiencing perfectly timed meltdowns.
And the audience is chock-full of proud parents, video cameras in hand, zooming in on their child, documenting every detail like a reporter at the State of the Union Address.
Their kid may be flubbing every line, singing off-key, or not singing at all, but it doesn’t matter. It’s their kid, and she might as well be Meryl Streep or Pavarotti. No one on earth is like their kid, and that makes all the difference.
Your purpose shows up in your passions, and your passions surface in your talents. You may not be Streep or Pavarotti, but God is the parent zeroed in on your every move saying, “See there! That’s my kid! What a talent!”
Your talents matter because no one else on earth has them. And the world needs what it does not have.
I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made.
—Psalm 139:14
