Your Best Bonding Agent

Your Best Bonding Agent

The word family is often shorthand for everything that matters.

Your boss doesn’t respect your abilities. Your coworkers come to you only when they have a complaint. But at the end of the day, you breathe a sigh of relief. You get to go home to your family.

You have good friends, but even with them, you have to put on a hat you wouldn’t wear in the comfort of your own home. When you’re with family, you wear many hats, but they’re your favorite hats.

Family is the people you’re around when you feel like you’re home. Most often, but not always, family is those you’re connected to through blood or marriage.

Even with all its human dysfunction, family can be your best bonding agent in a world of paper-thin connections. Family can be your best protection, your best motivation. Family can surround you, and family can be your launching pad for rocketing into the stratosphere of a life that matters.

Like arrows in the hands of a warrior are children born in one’s youth. Blessed is the man whose quiver is full of them.

Psalm 127:4–5
