Spend What You Have

Spend What You Have

Why would anyone give his or her life for another?

We watch flag-draped caskets arriving home from overseas. People actually gave their lives for our country. We trumpet words like freedom and patriotism, but it still seems like such a high price to pay. Would we do it?

The Christian faith is founded on the fact that God’s Son gave His life for humankind. It’s so often mentioned that it almost loses its meaning. Why would anyone give her life for others in such a way? Would we?

You may not have to give your life in the way soldiers or saviors do, but you can give your money, your time, your sweat, your wisdom, and your guidance. It makes no sense in the world’s understanding that in emptying yourself you’ll find fulfillment. But it’s true.

Give of what you have, and you’ll become who you’re meant to be—a person of eternal wealth and riches beyond imagining.

“It is more blessed to give than to receive.” —Acts 20:35
