Slow Food

Slow Food

You’ve probably felt the frustration. The car in front of you in the fast-food line is taking forever! Or you’re at a restaurant, you get your food, rush through your meal, and then it’s off to who knows where. When we’re always in a hurry to eat before moving on to other things, we miss the sense that what we consume should matter.

Perhaps you remember someone in your family baking their own bread. Or making homemade chicken broth. Or that slow-cooker of stew that sat all day, extracting a taste you could never get from a microwave. Food like that shouldn’t be disregarded in favor of quick consumption.

The best food or a life-changing idea or the dearest friends are meant to be savored, enjoyed slowly.

Slow down the manner in which you consume things, and the joy of life will last that much longer.

“Slow down. Take a deep breath. What’s the hurry? Why wear yourself out? Just what are you after anyway?”

Jeremiah 2:25 MSG
