Reaction Versus Proaction
Reaction Versus Proaction
As you look to God more and more for guidance in your choices, it’s still possible to find your life on spin cycle. You wake up, perhaps mutter a brief prayer, but still behave the exact opposite way you intended. This is probably because you’re spending more time reacting than being proactive.
Wake up in the morning with a game plan in mind. Have problems getting along with others? Plan to offer them kindness before they have a chance to annoy you. Make too many impulse purchases? Write out a budget and wake up knowing exactly how much you have to spend that day. Overeat when you’re stressed? Plan moments of peace throughout your day, and plan a daily calorie limit you’ll stick to.
You can’t run the world, but you also don’t have to let the world run you. Plan ahead. Stick to your plan. And your good intentions can match your actions.
“Suppose one of you wants to build a tower. Won’t you first sit down and estimate the cost to see if you have enough money to complete it?” —Luke 14:28
