Most active during the nineteenth century, the Shakers were a community known not just for quality furniture, but also for ingenious inventions such as the circular saw and the washing machine. They are also known for eye-popping architecture, glorious music and literature, rich agriculture, and a joyful communal life.

The Shakers were connected to the quality of God’s work in creation. So the focus of their work and life was to reflect a similar level of quality and excellence in whatever they put their hands to.

As you discover your identity, your purpose, and how the life that matters calls you to grow, learn, and become wiser, you’ll realize that all is a reflection of the quality work of your Creator—and that what you do in life can no longer be about settling for good enough.
