Navigating Obstacles
No adventure story is without obstacles.
You will encounter dangers, distractions, and delays—things that will hinder you from reaching your goal.
You’ve done well in school, but then you start a new class and it’s all you can do to make a passing grade. One of the homeless men you’ve made progress with disappears and doesn’t show up for that job interview you arranged. You had several outings with that new couple, but now you wonder if you’re just a third wheel. You stop answering when your sponsor calls and have a moment of relapse.
Forces in this world, and some within you, don’t want you to succeed. They will block you, make you stumble, and try to break your determination to keep moving forward.
But ask yourself: How badly do you want to reach your goal? And what are you willing to do to get it?
No one can make you quit the adventure but you.
If you can find a path with no obstacles, it probably doesn’t lead anywhere. —author unknown
