Moving Parts

Moving Parts

Eventually, your heart won’t be satisfied with the four walls of your workout club. To make movement a lifestyle, you’ll need to broaden your horizons around what it means to move.

It’s been said that the average stay-at-home parent may walk as many as ten miles a day just taking care of basic necessities. Perhaps it will seem less like work if you consider it part of the movement that matters.

Yard work, riding a bicycle, swimming, walking your dog, hiking on a nearby trail, joining an intramural sports team—these are keys to expanding how you move. Start strengthening every muscle you have, not giving up movement because of pure boredom.

Expanding your movement will expand your understanding about what movement can be. Your body has moving parts that need to be used, and so does life. Exercise your freedom to discover all of life’s moving parts.

When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put the ways of childhood behind me. —1 Corinthians 13:11
