Mining For Diamonds
Mining for Diamonds
Choosing joy is like mining for diamonds. No matter how dark it is, you can find precious jewels if only you’ll dig a little.
List your gratitudes. You’re alive; you’re loved; you can love others. Most likely, you have a roof over your head and food on the table. And that’s just a start. Remembering your gratitudes is the key to joy.
See the light right in front of you. There’s rarely a moment where you can’t find some glimpses of light wherever you are.
Imagine what makes you joyful. Time with your sweetheart, your children, your pets, chocolate cake, a large pizza, sleeping in, waterskiing, you name it.
Sing a joyful song. Your favorite pop tune, a church hymn, a song from your childhood. Try it. It works!
There’s no denying the darkness within the mine. It’s how you spend your time down here that will determine your joy.
The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it. —John 1:5 ESV
