Hope for a Sense of Place

Do you have a sense of place?

Of course, you live somewhere. But do you live where you live? Or is it just four walls and an electric bill? Your sense of place is more than just your living quarters. It’s where you belong. It’s where life most matters.

People who don’t have that find themselves constantly driven. Whether it’s in their work, their studies, or the way they relate to others, they’re always searching for something—often something they can’t define. They feel like it’s up to them to find it. What they never find is peace.

Realize that your greatest sense of place and peace isn’t in a location; it’s in a people. You probably already know this when it comes to family. But mostly it’s in one person: God. He is your ultimate sense of place, and your hope should be in Him.

Plant your roots in God, and He will give you a place to hang your hat until the day you can set up residence in His house permanently.
