Healing
Healing
Most of the time, you don’t even notice it. But it’s there: that dull throb of pain. The wound runs so deep in your bones and tissue that it’s become part of who you are. You’ve medicated to forget about its presence. You’ve developed a tough exterior to protect yourself from similar wounds. But no matter what you do, the wound remains.
What could be the use in opening old wounds? It’s true that it would be worthless if there were no chance that the wound could be healed.
But there is One who can heal even your deepest wounds. He was wounded too. Although He was healed of those wounds, He still bears their marks as a reminder.
Imagine life free of coping with that ever-present pain. Imagine this wounded Healer making all those wrongs right once more.
He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; the chastisement for our peace was upon Him, and by His stripes we are healed. —Isaiah 53:5 NKJV
