Books
Books
Books are perhaps the most personal of all art forms. They can delve deeper into the inner pockets of your psyche than other mediums.
You were probably read to as a child. Curled up on your mother’s lap, you remember her soft tone as she acted out the story with the rise and fall of her voice. You looked at all the pictures and were allowed to turn the pages.
You can probably still recall books from your youth. They were friends who understood you, who invited you to journey with them on some fantastic adventure. There was a warmth and safety as your eyes crossed the printed page.
Even today, you might use books to regroup, to make some sense of the chaos, and to spur you on toward greater things.
Books can reach inside our minds and give us a sense of ownership in understanding the life that matters.
Everywhere I have sought rest and not found it, except sitting in a corner by myself with a little book. —Thomas à Kempis
