14:26–30 Answers to Fear The agitation and fear Jesus’ disciples feel upon news of his departure are answered by the legacy Jesus leaves them: the Holy Spirit and his peace. This is not the peace imposed by military and political power, in Roman style, nor is it the absence of conflict. It is the peace of being in right, loving and obedient relation with God—a peace we see in Jesus’ total obedience to the Father.
