Psalm 91:9-16If you make the Lord your refuge, if you make the Most High your shelter, no evil will conquer you; no plague will come near your dwelling. For he orders his angels to protect you wherever you go . . . The Lord says, “I will rescue those who love me. I will protect those who trust in my name. When they call on me, I will answer; I will be with them in trouble. I will rescue them and honor them. I will satisfy them with a long life and give them my salvation.”

I meditate on your age-old laws; O Lord, they comfort me . . . I faint with longing for your salvation; but I have put my hope in your word . . . My eyes are straining to see your promises come true. When will you comfort me? . . . You are my refuge and my shield; your word is my only source of hope . . . I rise early, before the sun is up; I cry out for help and put my hope in your words.

Romans 8:35-39Can anything ever separate us from Christ’s love? Does it mean he no longer loves us if we have trouble or calamity, or are persecuted, or hungry, or destitute, or in danger, or threatened with death? (As the Scriptures say, “For your sake we are killed every day; we are being slaughtered like sheep.”) No, despite all these things, overwhelming victory is ours through Christ, who loved us. And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow—not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love. No power in the sky above or in the earth below—indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Psalm 119:76Now let your unfailing love comfort me, just as you promised me, your servant.

Psalm 94:18-19I cried out, “I’m slipping!” and your unfailing love, O Lord, supported me. When doubts filled my mind, your comfort gave me renewed hope and cheer.

Psalm 33:22Let your unfailing love surround us, Lord, for our hope is in you alone.

Psalm 40:11Lord, don’t hold back your tender mercies from me. My only hope is in your unfailing love and faithfulness.

God continues to love you with an intensity that no tragedy can ever quench.
