How do I know what my strengths and weaknesses are?

Daniel 1:17God gave these four young men an unusual aptitude for understanding every aspect of literature and wisdom. And God gave Daniel the special ability to interpret the meanings of visions and dreams.

1 Corinthians 12:11It is the one and only Spirit who distributes all these gifts. He alone decides which gift each person should have.

Recognize that God is the source of our strengths and special abilities. He has created each of us to serve him in ways unique from others by giving us special talents and abilities.

Exodus 31:3“I have filled him with the Spirit of God, giving him great wisdom, ability, and expertise in all kinds of crafts.”

Haggai 2:5“‘My Spirit remains among you, just as I promised when you came out of Egypt. So do not be afraid.’”

John 14:16“I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Advocate, who will never leave you.”

Romans 12:6In his grace, God has given us different gifts for doing certain things well. So if God has given you the ability to prophesy, speak out with as much faith as God has given you.

We should ask the Holy Spirit to reveal how he has especially gifted us. He will show us our strengths and how to use them to serve God.

Ephesians 1:16-17I have not stopped thanking God for you. I pray for you constantly, asking God, the glorious Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, to give you spiritual wisdom and insight so that you might grow in your knowledge of God.

We should pray for wisdom and understanding. God will reveal how he wants to use us.

Daniel 1:4“Select only strong, healthy, and good-looking young men,” he said. “Make sure they are well versed in every branch of learning, are gifted with knowledge and good judgment, and are suited to serve in the royal palace. Train these young men in the language and literature of Babylon.”

Matthew 25:15“He gave five bags of silver to one, two bags of silver to another, and one bag of silver to the last—dividing it in proportion to their abilities. He then left on his trip.”

1 Timothy 4:14Do not neglect the spiritual gift you received through the prophecy spoken over you when the elders of the church laid their hands on you.

Often our strengths are more evident to others than to us. We should seek the advice of others to help us determine our strengths and weaknesses.
