How do I know what’s really important? - Priorities - TouchPoints
Mark 12:29-31Jesus replied, “The most important commandment is this: ‘Listen, O Israel! The Lord our God is the one and only Lord. And you must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, all your mind, and all your strength.’ The second is equally important: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ No other commandment is greater than these.”
Jesus clearly stated the two greatest priorities for every person: to love God and to love others, and to do it with all you’ve got. When you sincerely love God, you will also love others.
1 Samuel 14:35Then Saul built an altar to the Lord; it was the first of the altars he built to the Lord.
Don’t confuse what’s urgent with what’s important. Saul finally got around to building an altar to God—months and possibly years after he was first anointed king. The urgent had taken him away from what was really important—God.
