What are some of the biggest mistakes I can make? - Mistakes - TouchPoints
Acts 14:11-12When the crowd saw what Paul had done, they shouted in their local dialect, “These men are gods in human form!” They decided that Barnabas was the Greek god Zeus and that Paul was Hermes.
Worshiping anyone or anything other than God is a mistake.
2 Corinthians 5:16So we have stopped evaluating others from a human point of view. At one time we thought of Christ merely from a human point of view. How differently we know him now!
Hebrews 2:3So what makes us think we can escape if we ignore this great salvation that was first announced by the Lord Jesus himself and then delivered to us by those who heard him speak?
Ignoring, neglecting, or refusing to acknowledge Jesus as God is a mistake with eternal consequences.
Psalm 44:21God would surely have known it, for he knows the secrets of every heart.
Jeremiah 23:24“Can anyone hide from me in a secret place? Am I not everywhere in all the heavens and earth?” says the Lord.
Hebrews 4:13Nothing in all creation is hidden from God. Everything is naked and exposed before his eyes, and he is the one to whom we are accountable.
To think God doesn’t see or overlooks sin is a mistake.
Genesis 3:11-13“Who told you that you were naked?” the Lord God asked. “Have you eaten from the tree whose fruit I commanded you not to eat?” The man replied, “It was the woman you gave me who gave me the fruit, and I ate it.” Then the Lord God asked the woman, “What have you done?” “The serpent deceived me,” she replied. “That’s why I ate it.”
Genesis 16:5Then Sarai said to Abram, “This is all your fault! I put my servant into your arms, but now that she’s pregnant she treats me with contempt.”
Proverbs 19:3People ruin their lives by their own foolishness and then are angry at the Lord.
Not taking responsibility for your own actions is a big mistake. It causes more mistakes with increasingly harder consequences as time goes on.
Job 10:18“Why, then, did you deliver me from my mother’s womb? Why didn’t you let me die at birth?”
Numbers 13:27-28, 31This was their report to Moses: “We entered the land you sent us to explore, and it is indeed a bountiful country—a land flowing with milk and honey. Here is the kind of fruit it produces. But the people living there are powerful, and their towns are large and fortified. We even saw giants there. . . . We can’t go up against them!”
Matthew 6:30And if God cares so wonderfully for wildflowers that are here today and thrown into the fire tomorrow, he will certainly care for you. Why do you have so little faith?
It is a mistake to assume God doesn’t care about you or want to help you.
