How does God show me mercy?

Psalm 103:3-5He forgives all my sins . . . He ransoms me from death . . . He fills my life with good things . . .

James 1:17Whatever is good and perfect is a gift coming down to us from God our Father, who created all the lights in the heavens. He never changes or casts a shifting shadow.

God showers numerous acts of mercy on us each day. Anything good in our lives is from God’s merciful hand.

Exodus 34:6I am the Lord, the merciful and gracious God. I am slow to anger and rich in unfailing love and faithfulness.

Ephesians 2:4-5But God is so rich in mercy, and he loved us so very much, that even while we were dead because of our sins, he gave us life . . .

Proverbs 16:6Unfailing love and faithfulness cover sin . . .

1 Peter 3:9Don't repay evil for evil. Don't retaliate with insults when people insult you. Instead, pay them back with a blessing. That is what God has called you to do, and he will grant you his blessing.

God shows us mercy by being slow to get angry over our sins, by offering us eternal life and salvation, and by showing us unfailing love no matter what we have done against him.

Titus 3:4-8But then God our Savior showed us his kindness and love. He saved us, not because of the good things we did, but because of his mercy. He washed away our sins and gave us a new life through the Holy Spirit. He generously poured out the Spirit upon us because of what Jesus Christ our Savior did. He declared us not guilty because of his great kindness. And now we know that we will inherit eternal life. These things I have told you are all true.

By God’s love we were given the free gift of salvation even though we didn’t deserve it. Because of God’s mercy, we have forgiveness and freedom from guilt. Because of God’s kindness, we have been blessed beyond our wildest dreams because he has secured us a perfect life for all eternity in heaven.
