Why is knowledge so important?

Proverbs 1:4These proverbs will give insight to the simple, knowledge and discernment to the young.

1 Timothy 2:4who wants everyone to be saved and to understand the truth.

Romans 10:14But how can they call on him to save them unless they believe in him? And how can they believe in him if they have never heard about him? And how can they hear about him unless someone tells them?

Knowledge leads to purpose. Knowledge of Jesus changes our purpose in life. If you are struggling with your purpose in life, spend time studying and getting to know God’s Word and ask him to reveal his purpose to you.

Proverbs 2:10For wisdom will enter your heart, and knowledge will fill you with joy.

Proverbs 4:6Don't turn your back on wisdom, for she will protect you. Love her, and she will guard you.

2 Peter 1:5In view of all this, make every effort to respond to God's promises. Supplement your faith with a generous provision of moral excellence, and moral excellence with knowledge,

Using the wisdom God has given us helps us apply what we know and saves us from choosing many wrong paths.

Galatians 1:6-7I am shocked that you are turning away so soon from God, who called you to himself through the loving mercy of Christ. You are following a different way that pretends to be the Good News [7] but is not the Good News at all. You are being fooled by those who deliberately twist the truth concerning Christ.

1 Corinthians 11:3-4But there is one thing I want you to know: The head of every man is Christ, the head of woman is man, and the head of Christ is God. [4] A man dishonors his head if he covers his head while praying or prophesying.

2 Timothy 4:3-4For a time is coming when people will no longer listen to sound and wholesome teaching. They will follow their own desires and will look for teachers who will tell them whatever their itching ears want to hear. [4] They will reject the truth and chase after myths.

Acts 17:11And the people of Berea were more open-minded than those in Thessalonica, and they listened eagerly to Paul's message. They searched the Scriptures day after day to see if Paul and Silas were teaching the truth.

Satan often tries to confuse believers and corrupt the gospel. Truth and knowledge are powerful tools in protecting the church.
