Should we avoid pride even in doing God’s work, the most holy and wonderful work of all? - Humility - TouchPoints

Should we avoid pride even in doing God’s work, the most holy and wonderful work of all?

Matthew 6:1“Watch out! Don’t do your good deeds publicly, to be admired by others, for you will lose the reward from your Father in heaven.”

Acts 20:19“I have done the Lord’s work humbly and with many tears.”

It would be easy to do the Lord’s work with great pride. After all, his work is the most wonderful work in all the world. But Paul recognized that doing God’s work is serving, which takes humility. Those who are proud are not good at serving.
