Can we ever hide from God?

Psalm 44:21God would surely have known it, for he knows the secrets of every heart.

Psalm 139:1-12O Lord, you have examined my heart and know everything about me. You know when I sit down or stand up. You know my every thought when far away. You chart the path ahead of me and tell me where to stop and rest. Every moment you know where I am. You know what I am going to say even before I say it, Lord. You both precede and follow me . . . I can never get away from your presence! If I go up to heaven, you are there; if I go down to the place of the dead, you are there. If I ride the wings of the morning, if I dwell by the farthest oceans, even there your hand will guide me, and your strength will support me. I could ask the darkness to hide me and the light around me to become night—but even in darkness I cannot hide from you.

Psalm 90:8You spread out our sins before you— our secret sins—and you see them all.

Jeremiah 17:10I, the Lord, search all hearts and examine secret motives.

Jeremiah 23:23-24“Am I a God who is only in one place?” asks the Lord. “Do they think I cannot see what they are doing? Can anyone hide from me? Am I not everywhere in all the heavens and earth?” asks the Lord.

Proverbs 15:3The Lord is watching everywhere, keeping his eye on both the evil and the good.

2 Chronicles 16:9The eyes of the Lord search the whole earth in order to strengthen those whose hearts are fully committed to him.

Psalm 69:5O God, you know how foolish I am; my sins cannot be hidden from you.

Proverbs 20:27The Lord’s searchlight penetrates the human spirit, exposing every hidden motive.

Jeremiah 16:17I am watching them closely, and I see every sin. They cannot hope to hide from me.

Daniel 2:22He reveals deep and mysterious things and knows what lies hidden in darkness, though he himself is surrounded by light.

Hebrews 4:13Nothing in all creation can hide from him. Everything is naked and exposed before his eyes.

No one can ever hide from God, and nothing can ever be hidden from him. Where can we hide when God is omnipresent, everywhere? What can we hide when God is omniscient, all knowing?
