How should I respond when life isn’t fair? - Fairness - TouchPoints
Ezekiel 18:25“Yet you say, ‘The Lord isn’t doing what’s right!’ Listen to me, O people of Israel. Am I the one not doing what’s right, or is it you?”
When life seems unfair, we shouldn’t blame God for the unfairness of other people.
Ecclesiastes 9:11I have observed something else under the sun. The fastest runner doesn’t always win the race, and the strongest warrior doesn’t always win the battle. The wise sometimes go hungry, and the skillful are not necessarily wealthy. And those who are educated don’t always lead successful lives. It is all decided by chance, by being in the right place at the right time.
When life seems unfair, we should remember that life is not always fair. Expected results don’t always happen the way we think they should. But if we look around, we will realize that many others are dealing with troubles we’ve never faced or lack blessings that we enjoy. We have much for which to be grateful.
Psalm 9:8He will judge the world with justice and rule the nations with fairness.
Isaiah 9:7His government and its peace will never end. He will rule with fairness and justice from the throne of his ancestor David for all eternity. The passionate commitment of the Lord of Heaven’s Armies will make this happen!
When life seems unfair, we should recognize that God will ultimately triumph with justice and fairness in the end.
Psalm 37:28The Lord loves justice, and he will never abandon the godly. He will keep them safe forever, but the children of the wicked will die.
When life seems unfair, we should remember that our ultimate vindication will be through God’s efforts, not our own.
