Where is God in my time of crisis?

Jonah 2:6I sank down to the very roots of the mountains. I was locked out of life and imprisoned in the land of the dead. But you, O Lord my God, have snatched me from the yawning jaws of death!

Psalm 40:2He lifted me out of the pit of despair, out of the mud and the mire. He set my feet on solid ground and steadied me as I walked along.

Jonah 1:17Now the Lord had arranged for a great fish to swallow Jonah. And Jonah was inside the fish for three days and three nights.

Psalm 46:1-2God is our refuge and strength, always ready to help in times of trouble. So we will not fear when earthquakes come and the mountains crumble into the sea.

Psalm 69:33For the Lord hears the cries of the needy; he does not despise his imprisoned people.

Romans 8:35Can anything ever separate us from Christ’s love? Does it mean he no longer loves us if we have trouble or calamity, or are persecuted, or are hungry or cold or in danger or threatened with death?

You need not pray for the Lord to be with you in times of crisis—he is already there. Instead, pray that you will recognize his presence and have the humility and discernment to accept his help.

John 16:33I have told you all this so that you may have peace in me. Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows. But take heart, because I have overcome the world.

God does not say he will always prevent crises in your life—we live in a sinful world where terrible things happen. But God does promise to always be there with you and for you, helping you through any crisis. And he promises to help you learn how to have peace and hope in any crisis.
