How can I be a good example to others?

Titus 2:7And you yourself must be an example to them by doing good works of every kind.

Hebrews 6:12Then you will not become spiritually dull and indifferent. Instead, you will follow the example of those who are going to inherit God’s promises because of their faith and endurance.

Strive to be the kind of example people will want to follow. A good role model does good for others.

Jeremiah 1:10“Today I appoint you to stand up against nations and kingdoms.”

A good role model not only does what is right but speaks out against wrong.

Hebrews 5:12You have been believers so long now that you ought to be teaching others.

A good role model teaches others about God’s ways.

1 Timothy 4:12Don’t let anyone think less of you because you are young. Be an example to all believers in what you say, in the way you live, in your love, your faith, and your purity.

Age need not be a barrier to being a good role model.

A good role model influences others for good rather than being easily influenced by evil.

Remember to follow the ultimate role model. In other people, we find assorted characteristics we would like to follow. In Jesus Christ, we find all of the characteristics we would like to follow. When you have a question about what to do, ask what Jesus would have done.

A life characterized by sin becomes an example of what not to be like.
