Exodus 20:1-17Then God gave the people all these instructions . . . “You must not have any other god but me.”

God gave us the Ten Commandments. They are absolute truths that apply to all people in all cultures for all time. Obeying these commandments will point one’s life in the right direction, make it more fulfilling and satisfying, avoiding much harm, and keeping one’s focus on the only God who can grant eternal life.

Psalm 147:5How great is our Lord! His power is absolute! His understanding is beyond comprehension!

And when you believed in Christ, he identified you as his own by giving you the Holy Spirit, whom he promised long ago. The Spirit is God’s guarantee that he will give us the inheritance he promised and that he has purchased us to be his own people.

Acts 2:38-39Peter replied, “Each of you must repent of your sins and turn to God, and be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. Then you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. This promise is to you, to your children, and to those far away—all who have been called by the Lord our God.”

The presence of the Holy Spirit is an absolute guarantee to those who believe in Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior.

1 John 2:24-25So you must remain faithful to what you have been taught from the beginning. If you do, you will remain in fellowship with the Son and with the Father. And in this fellowship we enjoy the eternal life he promised us.

Titus 1:2This truth gives them confidence that they have eternal life, which God—who does not lie—promised them before the world began.

Eternal life is a promised gift to those who believe in the Lord Jesus Christ.
