End the Stalemate: Disagreeing without Destroying the Relationship - Devotional Reading Plan
Differences of opinion have always been part of life. Spouses, family members, co-workers, neighbors and even church members have had spirited conversations about politics, theology, social issues, and even sports. However, something has changed in how we handle those disagreements. Since the 2016 presidential election, 30% of respondents in a study said they have stopped talking to a friend or family member. Their disagreements lead them to enter a stalemate where bonds were severed. Is it possible to deeply disagree and keep the relationship intact? To use the apostle Paul's language, can I speak truth in love when we find ourselves in a stalemate with a friend, family member, or co-worker?
