On Guard
Read Proverbs 2
He guards the paths of the just and protects those who are faithful to him.
Proverbs 2:8
The Bible tells us that God is not only perfectly loving, merciful, and compassionate but also perfectly just: “The Lord our God was right to do all of these things” (Daniel 9:14). Because God is perfectly just, we can trust that everything he does is right and fair—whether we perceive it that way now or not. We know that whatever happens to us in this life has already passed through his hands—even perceived injustice. God promises to protect those who are faithful to him.
The world is full of injustice and corruption. While we watch injustice occur, we may wonder where God is. Yet the Bible assures us that he is guarding the paths of justice. In the end, the one who is perfectly just will punish all evil and reward his faithful children.
A WORD FOR TODAY
God rewards faithfulness.
Lord, help me to trust in your justice. Help me to know that ultimately you will make all things right, bring perfect justice to the world, and reward those who have remained faithful to you.
