Lord Jesus, how does the Holy Spirit help me?

If you love me, obey my commandments. And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Advocate, who will never leave you. He is the Holy Spirit, who leads into all truth. When the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all truth. My Spirit gives you desires that are opposite of what your sinful nature desires.

How does the Holy Spirit advocate for me?

My Spirit, who raised Jesus from the dead, lives in you. I will not abandon you as an orphan—I will come to you. For my Spirit joins with your spirit to affirm that you are my child. The Holy Spirit helps you in your weakness. He prays for you with groanings that cannot be expressed in words. I know all hearts and I know what the Spirit is saying, for the Spirit pleads for you in harmony with my own will.

What can I pray in gratitude for the Holy Spirit working on my behalf?

You are my strength and shield, LORD. I trust you with all my heart. You help me, and my heart is filled with joy. I burst out in songs of thanksgiving.

The Holy Spirit affirms your identity as a child of God. The Holy Spirit prays for you. And the Holy Spirit helps you desire the things that lead to righteous living.
