Satisfaction - 365 Questions for a Woman's Soul

satisfaction - Why can’t I ever feel satisfied with my life?

You don’t have what you want because you don’t ask God for it. And even when you ask, you don’t get it because your motives are all wrong—you want only what will give you pleasure.

James 4:2-3

Let them praise the LORD for his great love and for the wonderful things he has done for them. For he satisfies the thirsty and fills the hungry with good things.

Psalm 107:8-9

O God, you are my God. . . . My soul thirsts for you. . . . You satisfy me more than the richest feast.

Psalm 63:1, 5

GOD HAS PLACED a longing for heaven inside of every human heart. C. S. Lewis states, “If we find ourselves with a desire that nothing in this world can satisfy, the most probable explanation is that we were made for another world.” Nothing on this earth will bring true fulfillment or lasting happiness. The Bible promises over and over that only God is able to fully satisfy—to meet that deep emptiness inside us that longs to be filled. Only a relationship with him can lead to a life that is truly rich and satisfying. If you feel unsatisfied with life, perhaps it is because you doubt that God is enough. The next time you find yourself longing for more, come to God with your disappointments. Remember his promises to satisfy those who believe in him and continually strive to know him.
