Loneliness - 365 Questions for a Woman's Soul

loneliness - If God is always with me, why do I feel so alone?

O LORD, how long will you forget me? Forever? How long will you look the other way? How long must I struggle with anguish in my soul, with sorrow in my heart every day?

Psalm 13:1-2

Lord, through all the generations you have been our home!

Psalm 90:1

[Jesus said,] “Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”

Matthew 28:20

You know when I sit down or stand up. You know my thoughts even when I’m far away. . . . I can never escape from your Spirit! I can never get away from your presence!

Psalm 139:2, 7

THE GREATER our troubles, the farther away God sometimes seems. In our darkest hours, we may feel that God has left us. In times like these, when it feels as if God is absent, we can’t trust our feelings. We must trust God’s promise that he will never leave us alone. We rely on what the Bible tells us is true, not on what our feelings are telling us. Even though we may feel as if God is far away, actually he is always near. No matter how troubled you are, trust that God is with you. When you are hurting the most, he most wants to walk beside you.
