Why does godly transformation take so long?
Dear Jesus,
I am your work of art—and one that’s definitely still in process. Why does it take such a long time for you to complete your work in me? In this moment I am fervent in my faith, inspired to change. But I know being transformed into godliness takes a lifetime. For real and dynamic change to occur, you have to give me a new heart and a new way of thinking. So I ask you to make the change in me. May the Holy Spirit help me to focus on what is true and good and right. How I long to see the new me—a person who displays your goodness and holiness! When these changes seem to be coming slowly, remind me that your work in me is relentless and certain. Please give me patience with myself as I trust you to work in me at just the right pace.
