Dusty Frame - The One Year Sweet and Simple Moments with God Devotional

He knows how weak we are; he remembers we are only dust.
Psalm 103:14
I just failed as a mother again! I was impatient and short-tempered when my sweet child did not do something I asked her to do. Imagine that!
That innate rebelliousness, going astray like lost sheep and not following the Shepherd, is obvious even from an early age, and it travels with us as we grow older. Even as I scolded my daughter for disobeying me, I realized I have to be honest and ask myself how many times I have been disobedient toward my heavenly Father. There is probably no goal I want to achieve more in life than being an excellent wife and mother. So why are these the areas where my failures are most evident?
When I finally realized my own guilt, feeling overwhelmed that I had acted in such an unloving way that had displeased God, He kindly called to my mind 1 Corinthians 13 and its truth about love being patient and kind.
He knows how weak we are. He fashioned us from dust. No matter how many devotions I write or how many women I introduce to Christ, I still consist of dust. We all do.
But God is strong. He knows better than anyone else what we are made of, and He loves us unconditionally even though He understands that we will fail again. Remembering His patient love is so encouraging to my sorry emotions. God does not offer His forgiveness reluctantly. God loves to forgive us! And He renews a right spirit within us, right then and there, when we face up to our failures.
Next time you have a dust cloth in your hand, be reminded again that God knows what we are made of and loves us unconditionally!
