Inspire Those Around You - In the Morning When I Rise
Inspire Those Around You
Lord, how can I inspire others to know you?
You are the light of the world—like a city on a hilltop that cannot be hidden. No one lights a lamp and then puts it under a basket. Instead, a lamp is placed on a stand, where it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your good deeds shine out for all to see, so that everyone will praise me, your heavenly Father. And if someone asks about your hope as a believer, always be ready to explain it.
Matthew 5:14-16; 1 Peter 3:15
What actions might be most inspirational to others?
Keep on loving others as long as life lasts. Don’t just pretend to love others. Really love them. Love each other with genuine affection, and take delight in honoring each other. Your love for one another will prove to the world that you are my disciples.
Hebrews 6:11; Romans 12:9-10; John 13:35
What can I pray for those I hope to inspire to follow you?
Lord, may they have the power to understand, as all your people should, how wide, how long, how high, and how deep your love is. May they experience the love of Christ, though it is too great to understand fully. May they be made complete with all the fullness of life and power that comes from you.
Ephesians 3:18-19
If you want to inspire others to want to know God, learn how to love people well. Live a life so overflowing with love that others can’t help but notice—and wonder. And when someone asks about your behavior, always be ready to explain your faith with gentleness and respect. Whom in your sphere of influence might God be calling you to love lavishly? How can you show him or her God’s love today?
