God Can Bring Good From Any Circumstance - In the Evening When I Rest
God Can Bring Good From Any Circumstance
Lord, do you send both joyful and troubling circumstances my way?
I create the light and make the darkness. I send good times and bad times. I, the LORD, am the one who does these things. Enjoy prosperity while you can, but when hard times strike, realize that both come from me.
Isaiah 45:7; Ecclesiastes 7:14
But why would you allow me to face such adversity?
Don’t be surprised at the fiery trials you are going through, as if something strange were happening to you. Instead, be very glad—for these trials make you partners with Christ in his suffering, so that you will have the wonderful joy of seeing his glory when it is revealed to all the world. So if you are suffering in a manner that pleases me, keep on doing what is right, and trust your life to me, the God who created you, for I will never fail you.
1 Peter 4:12-13, 19
What can I pray during difficult times?
Great is your faithfulness; your mercies begin afresh each morning. I say to myself, “The LORD is my inheritance; therefore, I will hope in him!” For no one is abandoned by you forever. Though you bring grief, you also show compassion because of the greatness of your unfailing love.
Lamentations 3:23-24, 31-32
God uses both good and difficult circumstances to shape you into the person he wants you to be. Remember, your character and faith are important parts of who you are. Whether you are currently living in sunshine or storms, God loves you, he is with you, and he is able to bring good out of any situation. Can you remember a difficult circumstance in your life that God used for good? How can this encourage your faith in today’s circumstances?
