Choose To Trust - Habits of the Heart

Choose to Trust

You are God, O Sovereign Lord. Your words are truth, and you have promised these good things to your servant.

2 Samuel 7:28

Do you tend to dwell on problems and give in to worry? Many of us spend too much of our time fretting over things we cannot control.

Trusting God, however, means believing that he loves you, that he’s absolutely good, and that he wants to do good things in your life. Growing your trust in God begins when you determine the places where it is difficult to trust him and then choose to let them go into his care.

The exercises this week will help you wrestle with the areas where trust is hard for you. They will encourage you to bring these areas before God, cast your cares on him, and embrace trusting God one day at a time.

Trusting God is not only a moment-by-moment decision; it is a lifelong process. Go to God as a little child and tell him your worries and fears. Watch how he transforms your heart when you choose to believe his promise that he has everything under control.
