Absence - Divine Moments for Women
Absence Why do I feel as if God is sometimes absent? O LORD, how long will you forget me? Forever? How long will you look the other way? How long must I struggle with anguish in my soul, with sorrow in my heart every day? How long will my enemy have the upper hand? Psalm 13:1-2 Lord, through all the generations you have been our home! Psalm 90:1 [Jesus said,] “Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Matthew 28:20 The greater your troubles, the farther away God sometimes seems. In your darkest hour, you may feel that God has left you. In times like those, when it feels as if God is absent, don’t trust your feelings. Trust God’s promise that he will never leave you. Rely on what the Bible tells you is true, not on what your feelings are telling you. Even though you may feel as if God is far away, he really is always near. No matter how troubled you are, trust that God is with you. When you are hurting the most, he most wants to walk beside you. You know when I sit down or stand up. You know my thoughts even when I’m far away. . . . I can never escape from your Spirit! I can never get away from your presence! Psalm 139:2, 7My Question for God
